Ed “Chief” Parsons Memorial Scholarship
The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club established the Ed “Chief” Parsons Memorial Scholarship in 2019. The scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 is funded entirely by the Delaware Valley Chapter from their general operating fund. The scholarship was established to honor the memory of our brother, Ed “Chief” Parsons. Chief was an Army veteran and former Chief of Police of Delanco Township. Chief was a devoted member and past President of our chapter and this scholarship is devoted to his memory and contributions to the chapter. This Scholarship is open to Burlington County New Jersey Residents only.
Eligibility
The scholarship award will be to current high school seniors, graduates and returning Veterans who are Honorably discharged to further their education at a junior college, technical institute, or a four-year university/college. Dependents of Vietnam Veterans, military veterans and law enforcement are encouraged to apply, but said dependency is not mandatory. The scholarship is open to all residents of Burlington County, New Jersey.
Award
The Award of $1,000.00, will be paid directly to the recipient’s choice of upon confirmation that the recipient has been accepted by, and enrolled at the institution.
Type of Scholarship
The Delaware Valley Nam knights M.C.
Provides for a $1,000.00 scholarship and will be awarded based on the applicant’s motivation to accomplish his/her educational goals, career goals, dependency of Vietnam/military veteran or law enforcement, citizenship and leadership. Financial need is a consideration only when other factors weigh equally among applicants.
Deadline
All applications must be received by May 30th of the current year.
Application Procedure
Students can obtain an application from their Guidance Office, or by contacting the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Nam Knights M/C at the Chapter website at http://www.delvalnamknights.org. The Eligible participant should complete the application and submit it by the deadline date of May 30th to:

If you are a high school senior then recommendations by one teacher and one adult are required. If you are a high school graduate or returning honorably discharged Veteran that has not yet enrolled in college courses, the reference from a teacher may be substituted with an employer reference. Recommendations should be completed and returned to the Delaware Valley Chapter on or before May 30th. (Deadline may be extended at the discretion of the chapter).
Selection Procedure
The Scholarship Committee of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Nam Knights will review all applications. The Delaware Valley Chapter Executive Board will approve the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee and awards will be announced by mail.
Distribution of Funds
The scholarship award will be paid directly to the school upon receipt of acknowledgement that the winner has been enrolled as a student.
